Gender Slurs.

By Sarah O'Leary:
Gender Slurs: Why What Rush Limbaugh Said Is So Damning to Women.
"Gender Slur (noun) (def.): The use of sexually-based words or phrases for the sole purpose of objectifying, intimidating and/or demeaning the intended victim to gain superiority, advantage, power and/or control. (syn. "word rape")."
-- Author

Rush Limbaugh's on-air assault of Sandra Fluke was light years past reprehensible. And the reason it was so horrific had nothing to do with Mr. Limbaugh's politics or what he thought about Ms. Fluke's politics or a host of other arguments that have been expressed by news outlets, pundits and citizens. Rush Limbaugh's use of "slut" and "prostitute" was a textbook example of how horrifically damning gender slurs are, and why such forms of abuse deserve swift and serious action. Mr. Limbaugh "word raped" Ms. Fluke. He used heinous sexual terms designed to degrade her, not her politics or her actual conduct. Why? Because objectifying and shaming a woman's relationship to sexuality is the most intimate, callous, hurt-filled and shocking thing one can do.
I couldn't agree more. The problem is the millions of men who secretly do this in our male social world. We men all have many friends who speak like this about women in our social circles everyday. Once A man's World is released, the women of the world will know everything they were never suppose to know. This is going to be Huge! I promise you.

Women End Up Less Happy Than Men

Less able to achieve their life goals, women end up unhappier than men later in life – even though they start out happier, reveals new research by Anke Plagnol of the University of Cambridge, and University of Southern California economist Richard Easterlin.

Plagnol and Easterlin's study, forthcoming in the Journal of Happiness Studies, is the first to use nationally representative data spanning several decades to examine the role of unfulfilled desires in a person's sense of well-being.
As the researchers explain, expectations of success may vary among those raised in different generations (i.e., an economic depression). Data sets from a range of time periods may also have different demographic compositions.
In their analysis, the researchers control for birth cohort and demographic characteristics such as race and education. They find that women are, on average, happier than men in early adulthood – but the glow wears off with time. Specifically, after the age of 48, men's overall happiness exceeds women's happiness.
These gender patterns of overall happiness correlate to patterns in two significant aspects of life satisfaction: family and finances.
As Plagnol explains: In later life it is "men [who] come closer to fulfilling their aspirations, are more satisfied with their family lives and financial situations, and are the happier of the two."
Women and men have fairly similar life goals when it comes to love, the study reveals. Nine out of 10 people of both genders reach adult life wanting a happy marriage.
"Differences between men and women in aspirations for marriage and children are fairly small," says Plagnol, who received her Ph.D. from USC in 2007. "Gender differences in satisfaction depend largely on attainment."
The saddest period of the average man's life – his 20s – is also the period when he is most likely to be single.
Young men are also more dissatisfied than young women with their financial situations, not because they are worse off, but because they want more and therefore experience a greater "shortfall," the researchers explain.
But age alters many things, including men's money woes and lackluster love lives.
After 34, men are more likely to be married than women, and the gap only widens with age, mirroring men's growing satisfaction with family life.
Men also become more satisfied with their financial situations over time, as reflected in their increased spending power. The researchers found that men tend to covet big-ticket items that might not be within reach until later in life, such as a car or vacation home.
(A notable exception: women want more "nice clothes" than men, the researchers found.)
These findings are consistent with an earlier study by Easterlin showing that recent generations are less satisfied than previous generations, despite having more.

A Man's World, the shocking truth page excerpt!

A Man's WorldThe shocking truths women need to know about the male code.

I was very concerned with the temptation of cheating when married. The common rule amongst men is that it's not cheating if you haven't been caught. I also got some advice from guys who felt that if I was going to do it, to make sure I stayed in control...meaning, keeping them [women] under the illusion that they have control by simply telling them they were. A wealthy friend of mine named Anthony pointed out something I'll never forget. He said. "You treat a marriage like the presidency. You're the president and your wife's the first lady. The president has all the power and the first lady has no power at all, but the illusion is that she does because we have fooled them into believing she does." He said, "The first ladies are nothing more than housewives that we decided to give a title to. This is why we don't have to ever worry about a female president. Women believe that as long as there's a first lady, they have a voice. Always make your wife believe she has power and you will be fine."
What Anthony said really opened my eyes. How many times have we all heard men proudly say She's the boss, when speaking with someone in the presence of their wife or girlfriend. I began to learn that deception and misdirection are powerful tools within the male code.

Augusta National's conundrum.

Augusta National's conundrum.

Augusta National Golf Club is a place of grand and strict traditions. Members must wear green jackets while on the premises. Caddies are mandatory. Annual fees and club membership are ostensibly secret. There is never, ever any running.

This is the most exclusive golf club in the world, just three hundred or so names and they are prominent – Warren Bufffett, Bill Gates, Lynn Swann, T. Boone Pickens and so on.
Here are two other traditions.

Historically, the sitting CEO of International Business Machines (IBM) is offered an invitation for membership. The club has never had a female member, even in the face of repeated public protests.

Now here’s the conundrum.

On Jan. 1, 2012, IBM named Virginia “Ginni” M. Rometty, a woman, as CEO. Bloomberg News Service, which first reported this, says she golfs, at least a little bit.

I’ve been to Augusta National many times and it is one of the most staid, conservative places imaginable. That’s how they like it. To suggest it is outwardly hostile to women is a stretch, though. There are women everywhere. They can play as guests. They hang out as spouses.
By Dan Wetzel,

This will be very interesting to watch. I personally like that Augusta has painted themselves into a corner. Change is constant, and it's time for Augusta to understand that. I support Ginni all the way.

High Heels?

High Heels?

What your shoes say to guys By Megan Gustashaw, Glamour
We love our sky-high pumps and cool-girl boots, but what do guys think of them?

Megan asked this question not long ago in Glamour magazine and I had a discussion about this with a current lady I'm dating. I personally love a woman in high heels or those suede high heel ankle boots. To me, those are both super classy and a bit expensive. I would know, there isn't a single woman I've dated who I haven't bought expensive shoes for. It's just my way. If a man wants his girlfriend to look good he's got to spend some money.

D.S.K charged in Prostitution case

Dominique Strauss-Kahn charged in French prostitution case
By Laura Rozen |
Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn faced preliminary charges Monday of aggravated pimping, or illegal procurement of prostitutes, in France.
Strauss-Kahn was summoned for eight hours of questioning Monday by French judges investigating an illegal prostitution ring operating out of the northern French city of Lille. The former IMF chief was notified that he was being placed under formal investigation, but allowed to leave after paying 100,000 Euros in bail, and agreeing not to talk to others being investigated in the case, or travel without consulting a judge, the Associated Press reported.

Prostitution in the wealthy social world of men is completely out of control. I was amazed when conducting my research at how big it has secretly become. A Man's World will reveal things you never thought possible, very soon.
